Suffice it to say that we-including Duke, our 14 year old Dachshund-are delighted to report that your creation of a cowrie shell collar has brightened our days since we first encountered you at an Ocean Grove Craft Market. Our attraction of the array of collars of all the sizes with a row of bright, creamy white cowry shells was immediate. The craftsmanship of each shell carefully sewn onto the collar is striking. We became aware of cowrie shells while teaching school in West Africa in the mid-70’s. Cowrie shells we learned were highly sought after in ancient African cultures for currency in trade. Today they are seen in traditional jewelry and talismans or amulettes which serve as protection against harm. It wasn’t hard to imagine how beautiful a white cowrie collar would look around the neck of our Duke, a short haired black and tan Dachshund, Oh, the best part is when we’re out for walks with Duke, we are constantly told by passer-by how beautiful and unique the cowrie collar is. Thank you for these inspired creations.

I got collars for both of my dogs. My smallest dog is about 45 pounds and wears a small. I absolutely love the purple color. The craftsmanship is outstanding and we get questions every time she wears it.
